Epilepsy Action is the largest member-led epilepsy organisation in Britain, acting as the voice for the UK's estimated 600,000 people with epilepsy, as well as their friends, families, carers, health professionals and the many other people on whose lives the condition has an impact.

Two European training networks of early stage researchers, ECMED and EU-GliaPhD,have organized the international conference “Novel Routes for the Analysis of Epilepsy” at the University of Malta in Valetta from April 29 to May 2, 2018.

This conference not only aims to exchange the latest results in epilepsy research between the research consortia and to foster further European collaboration, but also has a strong focus on the interaction with the interested public. Professor Matthew Walker, neurologist at University College London will give a public lecture “What is epilepsy and why do people get it?” Roundtable discussions will provide an informal forum for patient volunteers and neuroscientists to learn more from each other.
