Collège de France, founded in 1530, is a leading international institute famous for its long tradition of excellence in research and teaching. It has a highly multidisciplinary research environment (57 chairs) with world-recognized research departments, among which the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Biology (CIRB). This center gathers 18 teams from different horizons, including neurosciences, with the spirit to foster new collaborations within biological domains and across the usual disciplinary divide. The Neuroglial Interactions in Cerebral Physiopathology group, headed by N. Rouach in CIRB, is well known for its work on the role of astrocytes in neurotransmission.
