The Audinat team is part of the Inserm unit U1128 "Neurophysiology and new microscopies" (http://www.biomedicale.univ-paris5.fr/neurophysiologie), hosted by the Biomedical department of Paris Descartes University, one of the largest French university (http://www.parisdescartes.fr/eng). Inserm U1128 has a strong expertise in electrophysiology (simultaneous patch-clamp recordings), neurophotonic (2-photon, optogenetic) and also a strong expertise in neuron-glia interactions (astrocytes, microglia, NG2 cells). Current research of the team focuses on gliotransmission, the roles of astrocytes and microglia in epilepsy and the role of microglia during cortical development.
