With some 6,000 academic and support staff and around 27,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, Cardiff university is one of Britain’s major centres of higher education. CU participates via the Cardiff School of Biosciences. The School of Biosciences has a vibrant culture for postgraduate education with students that are overseen by the Postgraduate Committee, which organises induction, skills courses, monitoring and mentoring. All students have a deputy supervisor and an independent mentor. In addition, Cardiff University provides “The Graduate Centre”, which is recognised (by UKGRAD) as a hub for our postgraduate community and provider of highly valued social and study facilities, as well as being contributor to the University’s Research Students Skills Development Programme and Training Strategy.
